MUSC National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center (NCVRTC)
The NCVRTC offers a variety of specialized, evidence-based assessment, intervention, and treatment services to adult and child victims of violent crime and their families. The NCVRTC can also assist with case management resources for families impacted and assistance with completing crime victims' compensation applications. The NCVRTC also has a specialized program for surviving family and friends of someone killed, through our Survivors of Homicide Support Group. This program offers weekly support groups for adults, intensive case management services, and early intervention support.

MUSC Turning the Tide Violence Intervention Program (TTVIP)
MUSC’s Turning the Tide Violence Intervention Program (TTVIP) provides immediate and long-term wraparound support & intervention services to patients and families who are cared for at MUSC Health – Charleston’s trauma centers for injuries related to interpersonal or community gun violence. Crisis intervention, needs assessments, healthcare navigation, and connections to local community services and resources are offered during hospitalization and after discharge to support injury and emotional recovery, address unmet needs, and prevent future violence.

Coastal Empire Mental Health Center (CEMHC)
Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center serves Allendale, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper Counties and offers comprehensive outpatient mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our treatment includes an array of services. We are committed to working cooperatively with other agencies, both public and private, to assure continuity of care based on the needs of the individual. Crisis Chaplaincy offers comprehensive public safety and community chaplaincy care. Assistance is available upon request:
Crisis Response Team - provides support to assist area agencies, chaplains, first responders and community members following traumatic events and critical incidents
Survivor Care Team - provides peer support for survivors following the traumatic loss of a loved one
Community Chaplaincy Team - provides post incident community care and offers strategic solutions to build community resiliency
Chaplains Academy - provides training to chaplains, peer support, first responders, and the community to enable them to provide care and develop resiliency

South Carolina Department of Crime Victim's Compensation
In the aftermath of a crime, the South Carolina Department of Crime Victims Compensation (DCVC) works to minimize the impact of crime by providing financial compensation to eligible crime victims and their families. The Crime Victim Compensation Fund helps citizens with costs related to injuries received as a result of the crime. If you qualify for services, DCVC may reimburse some or all of the following costs:
Medical or Dental Care
Counseling
Lost wages for you as the victim; or for you to take care of a child victim or incapacitated adult for whom you are responsible
Funeral/burial services
Limited transportation costs

The South Carolina Department of Mental Health (SCDMH) has partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to provide an interactive screening tool to allow you to anonymously take a Self-Check Questionnaire and connect with a professional counselor in the state of South Carolina who can provide guidance, support and resources. This service is available to all residents of SC 18 years of age and older.
