Some FSU resources may only be accessible to enrolled students and current faculty and staff. Please call or visit any FSU resources' website to confirm availability.

All Florida and National Resources are available to any students, faculty, staff, families, and community members. Virtual resources are available regardless of Florida residency and enrollment status at Florida State University. These resources may be used at any point in your emotional recovery journey.

Victim Advocate Program | Department of Student Support and Transitions

The Victim Advocate Program provides free, confidential, and compassionate assistance to primary and secondary victims of crime, violence or abuse against, or by, Florida State University students through advocacy, education and training.

Counseling & Psychological Services

Walk-in appointments are available for students during business hours — Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. — on the second floor of the Askew Student Life Center. Services are available for actively enrolled students living in Florida.

Employee Assistance Program

The EAP is a free, confidential program providing a professional support system for the faculty and staff of the university.

Employee Mental Health & Wellbeing Support | Office of Human Resources

FSU Human Resources has a list of on-campus and community support resources available to all FSU employees, linked above.

Employees can call (850) 644-6034 or their department's HR Representative for any HR-related questions.

 

University Health Services

UHS offers routine appointments and same-day appointments for students, post-doctoral fellows and visiting scholars; orientation students and participants in special programs.

Students needing after-hours care have access to HeathiestYou 24/7 by calling (855) 870-5858. There is a fee for service for students not covered by the FSU student insurance plan.

No-Cost Crisis Counseling Services | Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences

The Assessment, Learning Evaluation, & Counseling (ALEC) Center and the Center for Couple and Family Therapy (CCFT) are offering free crisis counseling to students, faculty, and staff impacted by these events. Both teams are made of faculty and advanced doctoral students and are available to provide support through individual and small group sessions.

Psychology Clinic | Department of Psychology

The Psychology Clinic is a mental health service, training, and research center operated by the Department of Psychology at Florida State University. Services are provided by doctoral level student therapists in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program under the close supervision of faculty members. Assessment and treatment services are available to everyone in the community who contacts the clinic, regardless of affiliation with the university.

Bureau of Victim Compensation | My Florida Legal

In the aftermath of crime, the Florida Bureau of Victim Compensation works to ease the financial hardships suffered by crime victims. The process is initiated when a claim form and acceptable proof of crime (some exceptions may apply) are received. 

 

Florida 2-1-1

Florida 2-1-1 is available 24/7 to listen and provide emotional support, crisis counseling, suicide prevention, and information & referrals. You do not have to be in crisis to call, there is no eligibility criteria, and services are free and confidential. Call anywhere in Florida and receive information and support resources available in your community.

The Disaster Distress Helpline (DDH) is the first national hotline dedicated to providing year-round disaster crisis counseling. VictimConnect Resource Center (VCRC) is a weekday phone, chat, and text-based referral helpline for all victims of crime in the United States and its territories that provides emotional support, information, and individualized referrals.

Crisis Text Line

The Crisis Text hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the U.S. The Crisis Text Line serves anyone, in any type of crisis, connecting them with a crisis counselor who can provide support and information.
