The Evergreen Resiliency Center is here to support healing and recovery after the tragedy of September 10, 2025. Staffed by caring professionals, the ERC is a safe and supportive place for students, faculty, family members, and community members. We offer help with finding resources, support with crime victim compensation applications, connections to counseling and mental health services, and providing a welcoming gathering space for the school community. Whether you are seeking resources, guidance, or simply a safe and welcoming place to be, you are not alone.

Here, you will find a collection of resources designed for students, staff, faculty, families, and community members. Please explore the tabs at the top of the page for information and support related to Victim & Social Services, Social Connection & Empowerment, Health & Wellness, and Managing Trauma.

All Colorado and national resources listed on this site are available to anyone in need, regardless of Evergreen residency or enrollment status at Evergreen local schools. These supports are here for you at any stage of your recovery and healing journey.

What is going on at the ERC?

The Evergreen Resiliency Center (ERC) is a community-based space designed to support connection, recovery, and access to resources following trauma. Rather than functioning as a treatment or academic service provider, the ERC serves as a welcoming hub where individuals can find support, explore options, and connect with community partners in a setting that prioritizes safety, dignity, and care.

Whether someone is stopping in for a quiet moment, seeking guidance navigating resources, or participating in an activity hosted by a partner organization, the ERC is designed to meet people where they are and support healing at a sustainable pace.

Below are examples of what individuals may experience at the ERC, often through partnerships with local organizations and practitioners!

Supportive & Healing Spaces
  • Quiet areas for grounding, rest, and reflection
  • Sensory and calming spaces featuring soft lighting, art, music, movement, and nature-based elements
  • Drop-in safe spaces where trained staff are available to listen and provide support and resource guidance
  • Gathering areas that encourage connection and community
  • Peer connection opportunities facilitated by partners

Recovery-Focused Activities & Learning Opportunities (hosted in partnership)
  • Mindfulness and movement-based activities such as yoga and breathing practices
  • Creative expression opportunities including art, music, and writing
  • Group discussions and learning opportunities related to trauma, grief, and resilience, offered by partner organizations

Academic & Practical Support (space and coordination)
  • Quiet spaces for studying or schoolwork
  • Resource navigation related to organization, planning, and school supports
  • Coordination with schools and educators around trauma-informed approaches, as appropriate

Resource Navigation & Advocacy
  • Assistance connecting individuals and families to food, housing, medical care, and financial resources
  • Support navigating crime victim compensation, legal advocacy options, and school accommodations
  • Coordination with community agencies and culturally specific service providers

Community Healing & Connection
  • Opportunities for reflection, remembrance, and community connection
  • Storytelling and creative projects hosted in collaboration with partners
  • Community service and “giving back” opportunities that support meaning-making and purpose

Safety, Empowerment & Voice (partner-hosted offerings)
  • Educational sessions hosted by partners on topics such as boundaries, consent, and healthy relationships

Crime Victim Compensation (CVC)

Crime Victim Compensation (CVC) is a Colorado program funded by court fines—not taxes—that helps people affected by crime pay for certain crime-related expenses, including mental health counseling. For survivors of the Evergreen High School Shooting and others critically impacted—students, faculty, family members, and community members—CVC may provide financial support for care.

Our center can help determine if you qualify, guide you through the application process, and assist with required documentation. This support can reduce financial barriers so you can focus on healing and recovery. If you’re unsure about eligibility, we’re here to answer your questions and help you navigate the process. We also have physical copies of the CVC application available at the center if you prefer to complete it in person, and our team is happy to assist you every step of the way.

Jeffco Online Application
(CVC Portal)

The online portal is the standard application used for all Jefferson County CVC submissions. While you are welcome to apply using this method, please note that the system is designed to collect information for a wide range of cases and may request additional details that are not specific to the Evergreen High School (EHS) incident.

Evergreen PDF Application

The PDF application has been specifically tailored to support the Evergreen community in the wake of the EHS incident. It is streamlined to reflect the circumstances of this situation and may be a more straightforward option for applicants.

To submit the PDF application, you can email the completed PDF application to da-cvc@jeffco.us.
