The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Victim Services Unit provides compassionate support and guidance to victims and survivors of crime and crisis. Victim Advocates serve as the primary point of contact for referrals to a wide range of resources and services, offering assistance tailored to each individual’s needs. Advocates are available 24/7 to provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and ongoing updates throughout the investigative and recovery process. The First Judicial District Crime Victim Compensation Program provides financial assistance to eligible victims and witnesses of crime to help cover expenses such as therapy, medical care, and lost wages. This program is designed to support victims in their recovery by easing the financial burdens that result from victimization.
